Seamless Electrical Installations for Your New Kitchen. Whether you're installing a high-power induction hob, upgrading to feature LED lighting, or completing a full kitchen-diner extension in Bristol, we deliver clean, Part P certified electrical work synchronized with your kitchen fitter.
Hi, I’m Anton Burridge, lead electrician at Burridge Electrical. Modern kitchens demand significantly more electrical capacity than kitchens built 15 or 20 years ago. Between 7.4kW induction hobs, multi-function double ovens, integrated dishwashers, and quooker hot water taps, your electrical infrastructure must be calculated and wired properly.
We take the stress out of kitchen renovations in Bristol and South Gloucestershire by working directly alongside your kitchen designer, plasterer, or fitter. We arrive on time for 1st fix chasing, lay out exact socket positions, and return for 2nd fix fitments before issuing full Building Control certification.
Induction hobs and high-spec ovens require independent, high-amperage cables (32A/40A) directly from your consumer unit. We calculate diversity and install heavy-duty, RCD-protected feeds for absolute safety.
Transform your kitchen aesthetic with under-cabinet LED strip lighting, pendant features over breakfast islands, pop-up USB-C power sockets, and smart dimmable mood lighting scenes.
Major kitchen alterations are subject to UK Building Regulations (Part P). We log all completed projects directly with NAPIT and Local Authority Building Control so your home stays 100% compliant.

A homeowner in Central Bristol undertaking a major open-plan kitchen extension required a complete electrical redesign to support high-draw appliances, an island breakfast bar, and feature accent lighting.
Burridge Electrical coordinated directly with the main kitchen fitter, running dedicated 32A induction hob feeds, under-cabinet LED runs, and pop-up island power points. We upgraded the upstream consumer unit with RCBO protection and issued full Part P certification on completion.
While a few low-power plug-in induction hobs exist, most full-sized 4-zone or 5-zone induction hobs draw between 7.0kW and 7.4kW at maximum load. Plugging these into a standard 13A socket will instantly overload the circuit. They require a dedicated 32A or 40A high-amperage cable (typically 6mm² or 10mm² twin and earth) running directly from your consumer unit with a dedicated cooker switch.
Kitchen electrical work is split into two phases: 1st Fix occurs right after the old kitchen is ripped out and before plastering or cabinet installation. This is when we chase walls and run cables. 2nd Fix happens after cabinets, worktops, and tiling are complete, when we fit the sockets, switches, light fittings, and connect appliances.
Yes. Installing new circuits, adding a consumer unit, or carrying out major electrical alterations in a kitchen are non-minor works under Part P. As NAPIT registered contractors, we test and certify all installations, automatically notifying local Building Control (Bristol City Council or South Glos) on your behalf.
If your current consumer unit uses older rewirable fuses or lacks modern RCD/RCBO protection, an upgrade will be necessary. Modern UK safety regulations require all socket outlets and kitchen appliances to be protected by 30mA RCD devices to protect against electrical shock.

Many electricians in Bristol are simply not interested in the small jobs. They want the choice jobs and will drop you when a bigger, supposedly more lucrative project comes in.
Others advertise as electricians having no qualifications. They thrive on the basis that you don't understand what they do and as a result charging for shoddy, and often dangerous electrical work.
I set up Burridge Electrical to provide you with a quality service and provide you with exactly what you need from a qualified electrician.
